Sebastián Rincón and the memory of his father

Freddy Eusebio arrived at Independiente Santa Fe in 1986, while his youngest son, Sebastián Rincón, did so from the quarry in 2010. The Bogota team is a special part of the lives of the Rincóns as soccer players. He gave Coloso de Buenaventura the opportunity to debut in the first division, he also helped train the youngest of his legacy and made him sign his first contract as a professional, although he was never able to play there.

During the farewell that was given to him at the Pascual Guerrero, Sebastián took the floor to tell more about what Freddy was as a father and as a human being. He thanked Santa Fe for giving the two of them the opportunity to be professionals and recounted what they both experienced when the contract was signed.

“Many of you met the idol, the one who gave many joys on the field. I come to talk about Freddy, the father, the human being. One of the beautiful moments that I lived with my dad was when I signed my contract as a professional in Santa Fe, the same team in which he started. Thank Santa Fe for opening the door for both of us. I called him and said ‘Pa, I’m professional’. At the moment we began to cry on the phone, it was not to show many of his feelings and at that moment I felt it “.

Freddy, the father who never let him relax

Sebastián thanked all the demands that his father had with him, the same that led him to stay as a player today in a career of almost 10 years in which he has passed through the MLS, Portugal and Argentina, the country where he has spent most of his professional life.

“He was a very critical father.. She often played games and felt that she had played well and at the end she had calls from him. He told me ‘I congratulate you key, but you have to work your left leg better, you have to get more into the area, in such a move you have to get there faster’. I took that to mean that he never let me relax, he was always behind me. As I promised him in life and now that he is not with us, to continue doing things well so that day by day we are proud of him”.

Amid applause, the youngest of the Rincóns finished his speech in a tribute that he had to most of his closest relatives and friends in the city of Cali along with his most faithful followers.
