Sarrià draws in Zamora and misses a great opportunity

Sarrià drew this afternoon at Zamora (31-31) in a match that was vital to continue dreaming of staying. In case of victory, those of Josep Espar would have been only two points away from salvation, but the tie keeps them at four.

And that they have had the victory very close after a brilliant first half. The team from Girona came to dominate with seven goals (7-14) thanks to a good defense and a very fluid attack. It seemed that nothing would stop Espar from taking the two points of Castilian lands. It is true that the opponents have narrowed the gap (17-23), but failed to do so considerably.

Everything has changed in the last 10 minutes. Zamora managed to hurt the Sarrian defense, not as intense as in the first half, and they tied the game at 30 with just a minute and a half to go. Nitu Pòrtulas scored for Sarrià (30-31), but the locals responded with a goal from seven meters with just fifteen seconds left (31-31). In a last attempt, almost desperately, Oriol Teixidor threw from afar and stopped the goalkeeper to confirm the tie between the two teams.
