San Martín clearly dominated the game in the first half, beating the team from the capital of Corrientes 22-17 in the first quarter and 45-28 in the second. Agustín Insaurralde and Axel Méndez led the local offense while they were firm and focused on defense.
On the long half-time lap, El Tala reacted, and with an 8-0 run at the start, they bothered the locals. Carlos Miño called time out but the team had a hard time returning to its initial production. Cristian Ojeda and Jonathan Monzón complicated with their penetrations, and added to the always constant support of Luciano Cárdenas, they managed to reduce the difference to five points.
