Renault brushes aside Peugeot as sponsor

The manufacturer with the diamond becomes the new “Premium Partner” of Roland-Garros, and will supply the official vehicles of the famous tennis tournament.

While the image of the Peugeot brand has been linked to the Roland-Garros tennis tournament for nearly 40 years, things will change as of this year’s edition, which will be held from May 16 to June 5, 2022 : from now on, the lion mark will be replaced by Renaultwhich becomes the new “Premium Partner” of Roland-Garrosone of the most prestigious sporting events.

This new partnership between Renault and the French Tennis Federation (FFT) will last for at least five years, until the 2026 edition of the tournament, and will highlight sustainable mobility and social responsibility. As such, the French manufacturer will make available no less than 100 new Renault Megane E-Tech 100% electric for the needs of Roland-Garros, while around sixty other Renault models will also complete this nice official.

And for the first time, the Renault logo will be printed on the nets of the five main courts of Roland-Garros (Philippe-Chatrier, Suzanne-Lenglen, Simonne-Mathieu, n°7 and n°14), during all matches of the tournament. .

Renault & Roland-Garros: numerous events

As part of the 2022 edition of Roland-Garros, visitors will be able to join the tournament using vehicles from the car-sharing service Zitywhich will benefit from a dedicated car park in Zity, near the stadium.

The diamond brand also offers tennis fans access to Roland-Garros from the Champs Élysées, thanks to a 1930s RATP bus which will take them from the Atelier Renault directly to the Porte d’Auteuil, but also thanks to five copies of the Renault 5 of yesteryear, retrofitted with a 100% electric motor.

Within the grounds of Roland-Garros, visitors will be able to discover a stand of 150 m² dedicated to Renault, where many of the brand’s models will be presented, including the new electric Renault Megane E-Tech, the Renault 5 Prototype concept car, but also the new Renault Australwhich will make its public world premiere on this occasion.
