The director of Municipal Sports and Recreation, Gastón Williams, announced the workshops that are being held at the “Heroes de Malvinas” Municipal Gymnasium in the capital’s seaside resort.
In this line, the Director stated that “the gym has a very wide use”adding that “At 8 in the morning it is open for school No. 776, for physical education classes, and in the afternoons it is used for various activities.”
Regarding the activities that can be found, he reported that “We have Newcom, a municipal workshop for Badminton, Volleyball, Skate, Handball, and we have specific schedules for indoor soccer.”
“We also collaborate with two workshops; La Estrellita, which is a group of physical education teachers, who works with the training of young athletes and with a foundation called Hockey Nueva Esperanza”Held.
He also added that “After the pandemic, the Gym was enabled little by little and activities were resumed”and noted that “It took on great importance, because it was the first sports center that was fully operational.”
“Every Saturday and Sunday we have different sports activities, ranging from indoor soccer, volleyball to social or cultural events, which take place in the Gymnasium of Playa Unión”.
As for those interested in participating in the various activities, he commented that “They must go to register at the Sports Directorate located at Alejandro Maíz 20 or at the Municipal Gym”and highlighted that “It is necessary to remember that due to the pandemic we still have limited quotas.”
