Panamanian Academy is accepted into the Major League program

The Prospects AB International Baseball Academy, of Panamanian origin, was accepted as a member of the prestigious Partnership Program with Coaches (Partnership, in the English language) developed globally by the Major League Baseball Commissioner’s Office (MLB).

“The Coaches Partnership Program is a collaboration between the Major League Baseball (MLB) Commissioner’s Office and independent coaches to help develop international baseball, while also addressing important issues within the player signing market. international,” MLB explains on its website.

The MLB states that “it would like to support and support those who carry out their work in a safe and healthy environment, while following the rules of MLB and acting ethically. The coaches participating in this initiative must meet certain MLB quality standards, including registering their players and testing for prohibited substances; In addition, they maintain an open dialogue with MLB regarding the policies and regulations of baseball at the international level.”

The Operations Manager of the Prospects AB International Baseball Academy, Ángel Méndez, explained that “all the requirements requested by the MLB have been met, including physical visits to the facilities where they train, training and feeding plans, and economic aspects. of financing; which gave a positive step for the acceptance within the Partnership”.

Currently in Panama there are only seven academies that have been accepted in said program. These private coaching organizations are Mustang Prospects, Elite Academy, Baseball Technology and Performance, JJ Agency, Willy Prospect, The Farm International, and AB Prospects.
