Wenger Gives Perfect Rating

After the match, Arsene Wenger did not give praise to the Liverpool tactician, Jurgen Klopp. He also did not give praise to Luis Diaz, Sadio Mane, or Ibrahima Konate, who were the Reds’ goalscorers in that match.

Instead, Wenger gave praise to the people behind the scenes, namely the Liverpool scouts. He was very impressed with their ability to detect the right players for the Reds such as Mohamed Salah to Diaz.

“I would give 10 out of 10 to the scouts,” Wenger told beIN Sports.

“There’s nothing wrong there, from [Mohamed] False and Mane until [Virgl] Van Dijk. Now Diaz – Diaz looks special. It’s amazing what they’ve done,” he said.

Thiago and Keita

Arsene Wenger then said there were indeed a few exceptions regarding the signings of Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita. Because their adaptation is quite slow compared to other recruits.

However, Liverpool’s player recruitment team still works very, very well.

“The only player who didn’t integrate as well as we hoped from the start was Thiago, a little bit [Naby] Keita. They need time to adjust to the pace of the Premier League.”

“They did very well, Liverpool,” said Wenger.
