[Reuters]-Stephen Curry, a star player of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Warriors, announced on the 21st that he will start a junior golf tour that brings together children from various backgrounds.

The project, dubbed the “Underrated Golf Tour,” is being carried out in collaboration with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and aims to help children in disadvantaged home environments.

Curry said in a video message, “The number of golfers of color is less than 2%. Our tour brings equality and access to boys and girls who want to play and compete with the current top AJGA players. And provide a platform to give them the opportunity. “

Junior golfers aged 12 to 18 can participate, and travel, accommodation, and food will be paid. The tour will start in June in Chicago, and 24 selected men and women will face the final round of the season, the Currie Cup, in San Francisco in August.

Curry has been running a basketball camp since 2019 to provide training to children in similar circumstances, based on his own experience of being undervalued during his unnamed days.
