From April 1st, and throughout the month, ten volunteers from different European countries will have an experience in the province of Ragusa; the initiative will be based at the Liceo Convitto. The project, promoted by Attiva-Mente Modica and in partnership with other European and local associations and schools, aims to provide young volunteers of the European Security Corps (ESC) project “let’s do it togheter” an insight into the reception and integration work that takes place in the iblei.
“Volunteers will be employed in institutions of the local reception network” explains long-time coordinator and peer-trainer Vincenzo Giannone. “They will stay – he adds – in apartments in the historic center of Modica and will go to carry out activities at the Caritas of Ragusa, the Colored Roofs Association, Mediterrean hope and the Liceo Scientifico of Modica”.
Patrycja Pieniazek, co-coordinator of the project is keen to specify that “Volunteers will practice soft skills and hard skills such as Web-radio, peer education activities and report writing, at the end they will be able to bring the experience back to belonging “.
