MLB: Mike Trout gets hit in the hand and leaves the game

The Los Angeles Angels’ visit to the new Globe Life Field brought unfortunate news for the team after outfielder Mike Trout was hit in the left hand by a pitch and had to leave the game against the Texas Rangers on Sunday MLB this April 17, 2022.

During the fifth inning, the reliever Spencer Patton threw into the body of the Angels’ star outfielder; trying to get the pitch off of him, Trout threw his body back, lowered his arm and was hit by the ball squarely in the hand.

Three-time American League Most Valuable Player assured that it was difficult to see the ball as there was some light and shadow between the mound and the batter’s box of the stadium that kept the roof open during the game.

After receiving the impact, Trout left the game and was taken to the clubhouse before undergoing X-rays.same that yielded encouraging results because they did not find any fracture in the hand.

According to projections, the impact could cause Trout tome a few days off before returning to the Angels lineupa fairly short break compared to the calf injury that only allowed him to play 36 games in the 2021 season.

Trout is hitting .267 this season with two home runs and two RBIs. Doubled to right field during the third inning in a three-run rally that saw the Angels take a 4-1 lead.

Trout said he initially feared his hand might break and said he was frustrated where the pitch hit him.

“He could have hit me anywhere else, but he hit me in the hand,” he said.
