Messages from former teammates and former coach of Corinthians to Freddy Rincón

Freddy Rincón’s footprint in Brazil is indelible. The former player was champion in Corinthians four times, one of them in the 2000 Intercontinental Cup. His time in Timao is well remembered, he was a leader, friend and adviser. At UOL, Amaral, Luizao and Oswaldo Oliveira, who was the coach of that champion team, remembered him.

“Rincón is a guy I have a lot of affection for, from the beginning at Palmeiras and later at Corinthians. The only thing I can do now is talk to dad from heaven, that he may be putting the best doctors to take care of your health, to restore it. He is a fantastic guy, a strong guy, ”said Amaral, who was beginning his career as a soccer player when he met the Colombian.

For Luizão, “Rincón is a guy who took me to life in football, he is a leader, we are very friends. We are totally worried, I’m sorry, he’s a boy I love, he’s a friend”, highlighted one of the legendary area forwards, champion in Korea and Japan in 2002.

By last, Oswaldo Oliveira, who was the DT of the Colombian’s Corinthians, stated that, “Rincón was my captain, an example, a sensational type. Professionalism, ultimately a great person. Very sad about this incident and pray that things will be resolved.”

Rincón scored 11 goals, played 158 games and was champion in two Paulista tournaments 1998 and 1999. The former player is currently in the Intensive Care Unit, after a surgical intervention after his vehicular accident.
