Masters 1000 Monte Carlo: Davidovich beats an erratic Djokovic and achieves the dream victory

(ADVANCE) Alejandro Davidovich has achieved the most important victory of his career in the second round of the Masters 1,000 in Monte Carlo 2022, in which he has defeated world number 1, Novak Djokovic, 6-2, 6-7 (5) and 6-1 in two hours and 56 minutes of game.

The man from Malaga, who in the two previous duels had only made seven games against the Serbian, took advantage of the lack of rhythm of the Balkan tennis player, who arrived at the Monegasque event with only three official duels in his legs throughout the season.

Davidovich achieved up to nine ‘breaks’ in a match in which he showed many of the virtues that led him to be one of the most promising rackets on the Spanish scene, although this year he was not showing the expected progression. This victory, without a doubt, can change everything.
