Luis Feyenoord: performance, numbers in the Netherlands and Conference League | Colombians Abroad

Luis is talked about every day and in all accents. But from Luis Díaz more than from a namesake who could easily surpass him, at least in statistical terms.

The other Luis Fernando, whose last name is Sinisterra Lucumí, was not born in La Guajira but in Santander de Quilichao (Cauca), he is 23 years old (two years younger than the Liverpool player) and at Feyenoord he has done such dedicated and specific work, that has made dust the numbers of many of the figures that today compete in Europe.

Just to mention the Conference League: with his 7 assists and 11 goals he is already the second highest scorer in the competition, just one less than Basel’s Arthur Cabral.

But his season is more than that: he has 23 goals and 21 assists in 42 games, totally crazy when compared to the performance of Salah (20 goals), Mbappé (21) or Vlahovic (23). In fact, Benzema has only two more goals (25) and Lewandowski, the best in Europe’s major leagues, has 9 more (32).

The gates of glory are there, within his reach, and his arrival at one of the great clubs in Europe seems like a matter of time. Do they ask for goals in Colombia? What if the spectrum is widened and other ‘Luis Fernando’ are also contemplated?
