Lorenzen debuts with Angels in 6-2 win over Miami

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Michael Lorenzen gave up a two-run six-inning hit in his Angels debut, and Brandon Marsh hit a three-run homer in the Angels’ 6-2 win on Monday over the Miami Marlins.

Jo Adell also homered for the Angels, who bounced back after losing three of four to AL champion Houston in the season opener.

Jesús Sánchez scored both of the Marlins’ runs with solo home runs. Miami manager Don Mattingly was ejected in the fourth for arguing with the plate umpire.

Lorenzen (1-0) struck out seven. The only mistake that caught up with him was in the fourth, when Sánchez sent a cutter over the center-field fence.

The loss went to Venezuelan Elieser Hernández, who allowed four runs on five hits in four innings, striking out six.

For the Marlins, Cuban Jorge Soler 4-0. The Dominican Jesús Sánchez 4-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. The Venezuelans Jesús Aguilar 3-0, Miguel Rojas 3-0.
