Lionel Messi started his career at the Rosario club. Does he end it there too?
The traditional Argentinian club Newell’s Old Boys has low hopes for a transfer from superstar Lionel Messi. Club boss Ignacio Astore spoke publicly about a possible return of the Paris Saint-Germain striker. Among other things, quote him TyC Sports and the As: “It would be a double pleasure for me as president of Newell’s to bring in a player with these skills.”
Coming from Newell’s Old Boys youth, Messi trained there for five years before joining longtime club FC Barcelona in 2000. Astore continued: “What I know is that it’s up to him, beyond any decision we can make. What he thinks, how he sees the city, the country, his family and his situation after the World Cup. He just has to open the door to Newell’s.”
PSG: Messi is under contract until 2023
Hundreds of fans in Rosario had already wished for Messi’s return in 2020 as they hopped on the streets, waved flags and sang for their idol.

The 34-year-old’s contract with PSG runs until 2023. Blaugrana boss Joan Laporta had recently cooled speculation about a return to Barca.
