Coach quake at the Lakers!
Before the season, the Lakers were considered absolute title candidates. But it turned out quite differently.
The Los Angeles team actually missed the playoffs. Now the consequences are drawn.
As reported by US media, the Lakers throw out coach Frank Vogel.
Last night he was still allowed to look after the team – even got a win against the Denver Nuggets in the last game of the season.
When asked about the media reports, Vogel said he had not been told anything.
The 48-year-old won the championship with the Lakers in 2020. After a playoff first round elimination in 2021, the Californians missed the playoffs this season with just 33 wins from 82 games in eleventh place in the Western Conference.
No new coach in sight yet
There is still no clear favorite to succeed Vogel, ESPN reported. The decision to separate should be officially communicated to the coach on Monday (local time). Vogel still has a contract for the coming season.
