LA Open: frustrating end of the game for Boutier (9th, -3), Roussin-Bouchard 14th

After sixteen holes, Céline Boutier’s third round had everything from the ideal moving day. Starting from 10th place, the Frenchwoman chained the birdies on Saturday (holes 3, 7, 13 and 14), continuing to chain fairways touched (13/14) and greens in regulation (13/18). But a double-bogey on the 17th, then a bogey on the 18th, dropped the 17th in the world from the provisional top 4 of the LA Open, finally ending this 3rd round with a card of 70 (-1).

Now 9th in -3, Boutier will have a good chance on Sunday to get his 4th top 10 in a row on the LPGA. In the lead at -11, we find Nasa Hataoka and her solid 67. The Japanese saw world number one Jin Young Ko also implode on 17 (quadruple bogey, her first career in the USA) and is four lengths ahead on Hannah Green.

As for Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, a card of 70 (-1) put her back in the right direction after a Friday in 72. La Varoise now points to 14th place (-2 total). The rookie is only four strokes from third place, occupied by Jin Young Ko, Inbee Park and Haeji Kang.
