STRASBOURG/NIENHAGEN. Svea Teßmer from SV Nienhagen took part in the European U18 Cup in Strasbourg/France last weekend and celebrated his premiere on the EJU Cadet Tour 2022.

Under the eyes of the national coach, Svea traveled to France with a small squad selection from the Lower Saxony Judo Association for the EC. She was also nominated for the EC in Teplice/Czech Republic two weeks ago, but was unable to compete there due to illness. Strasbourg was her first international tournament at this level.

Svea showed strong fighting performances, but could not hold her line, so that she had to admit defeat just before the fight time was up. After a seven-month break from competition due to Corona, neither Svea nor her squad colleagues got past the preliminary round and consolation round fights, but were able to gain valuable competition experience.

“With this further nomination, the judoka of SV Nienhagen showed that we do very good work with young people and can always prepare athletes for such a high level,” says coach Maik Edling.
