Judo. Senior Brittany Championships: Louise Saout confirms – Judo



Championships of Brittany Seniors 1st division in Saint-Renan

This Saturday took place the Brittany judo championships at the Espace Trévisquin in Saint-Renan. It was the first time that the Dojo du Pays de Saint-Renan hosted such an event, with 125 participants among men and 43 among women.

The Dojo du Pays de Saint-Renan had nine judokas in its ranks but did not really exist, and only Roxane Laouenan distinguished herself by taking seventh place in the -57 kg category and will therefore be a substitute for the French championship of 3rd division next June.

The young Breton hopefuls have for the most part held their rank. Aleksandr Le Gall and Titouan Le Mentec of CPB Rennes Judo finished 2nd and 4th respectively in the -73 kg category and both qualified for the 2nd division French championships.

Louise Saout, 17, continued to amaze everyone by becoming champion of Brittany in -52 kg. Still among the juniors, recurrence among the seniors after a first regional coronation five months ago. The nugget Kumo judo from Morlaix and resident of the Pôle espoirs de Rennes has once again met expectations and can aim much higher.

CPB Rennes dominating

CPB Rennes dominated these championships, qualifying 12 judokas for the French championships and has three regional champions: Manuel Poisson (-60 kg), Quentin Cossez (-66 kg), and Aurélien Chebre (-81 kg). The Amicale Judo Morbihan leaves with eight qualified including two champions of Brittany, thanks to the successes of Maureen Le Cam (-70 kg) and Virginie Bodilis (-63 kg). Finally, the Pays de Brest CSAM Dojo won a gold medal, thanks to Quentin Le Gall, and qualified a total of seven judokas.

The championships continue this Sunday, since the Dojo du Pays de Saint-Renan will host this time the Finistère championship in individual cadets 2nd division and in individual hopes.
