The Esslinger Bundesliga judokas are defeated by their archrival TSV Abensberg. KSV coach Finkbeiner finds words of praise, because the result is not top-ranking.

Twenty seconds is excruciatingly long. And so the spectators in the KSV Arena in Mettingen looked spellbound at the Esslingen judoka Lukas Klemm, who had Patrick Weisser in his grip in the penultimate fight. Previously it was 7:5 for the record champions and arch-rivals TSV Abensberg. With an Ippon, Klemm would get KSV Esslingen back in the running and pave the way to a draw. Then the agonizing wait is over, Weisser cannot free himself from Klemm’s grip. With thunderous applause and arms raised, the man from Esslingen walked off the mat as the winner – for the second time on this Bundesliga day. But in the end it won’t be enough for a draw. Esslingen lost 6:8 in front of a home crowd.
