KOMPAS.com – Jonatan Christie praised Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo ahead of the semifinals of the Badminton Asia Championship or the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships.
Jonatan and Chico are involved in the Red and White duel in the semifinals of the Asian Badminton Championships which will be held at Muntinlupa Sports Complex, Manila, Philippines, Saturday (30/4/2022).
Chico first secured a semifinal ticket after eliminating Li Shi Feng (China) in two straight games with a 21-17 and 21-14 victory.
Jonathan then followed after ending the fight against the world champion from Singapore, Loh Kean Yew, with a tight score of 22-20 and 23-21.

Towards the semifinals, Jonathan praised the performance of his compatriot. He considered Chico had a significant increase.
“An opponent Chico who both know each other,” said Jonatan Christie in a press statement received Kompas.com.
“We practice together, we’ve met in official tournaments before. He’s amazing improvehim,” said the athlete who is familiarly called Jojo.
Jonathan also revealed his tactics to beat Loh Kean Yew, thereby securing a place in his first semifinal at the Badminton Asia Championships.
“Today I tried to play optimally and enjoy the game. Focus is also on holding the ball forward to look for attacks,” said Jonathan.

With the match between Jonathan and Chico, Indonesia has been confirmed to have one representative for the men’s singles in the final of the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships.
Indonesia also confirmed a ticket to the men’s doubles final because Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto will play Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan.
