In Lonato del Garda, where the third stage of the 2022 Shooting World Cup is underway, things do not start well for the Italian colors in the first qualifying round of the women’s trap.
Leading the ranking, after the first 75 targets, are the very strong Slovakian Zuzana Stefecekova and the Puerto Rican Augusta Rose Campos-Martyn, both at 71, in a group that has set its current pass share at 68 tomorrow’s semifinals, which, however, it should be remembered, will be preceded by two more shooting sessions, for a total of another 50 targets.
On the other hand, there is no comforting news from “casa Italia”. The best would be Alessia Iezzi at an altitude of 69, but the shooter from Chieti is competing with the “Ranking Points Only”, while the women competing, namely Maria Lucia Palmitessa (65/75), Giulia Grassia (63/73) and Silvana Tired (59/75) stood respectively in 19th, 27th and 48th positions. Fiammetta Rossi, also “RPO”, who crumbled 59 clay targets.
Tomorrow we leave. The goal is to get into the top eight of the rankings to pass the first cut and then be part of the semifinals and final for gold.
