“If they want to trade me, I wouldn’t say no”

The offseason has already started for some franchises, which inevitably implies leaving rumors concerning their superstar(s). One of them, already on vacation, has just announced that she would not go to conflict to stay on her team!

Here we are. After six months of regular season, the playoffs are finally about to start in the NBA. An enticing program awaits fans for the occasion, who will be able to follow this Saturday no less than four series openings. Some stars of the league should also land in front of their TV in a few hours, now having nothing better to do.

Absent from the postseason with their teams, the latter will thus be able to follow the exploits of their counterparts, while preparing why not already their offseason. If they don’t, US journalists will do it for them, with more indiscretions and rumors expected to surface in the coming weeks. This could particularly be the case… for Damian Lillard.

Damian Lillard opens door to Blazers departure

After only 29 games played, Dame had to end her season prematurely, handicapped by abdominal discomfort. His team obviously paid the price, she who only finished in 13th place in the Western Conference (27-55). Recently interviewed by Jabari Young from CNBCthe star leader obviously had to talk about his future on the spot, and first of all the gossip that should accompany his case:

Everyone is there, “He’ll do this, he’ll do that”, but the game is so watered down and fake that people won’t believe what you yourself are saying, even if you tell them directly.

Just two months ago, Lillard thus affirmed that he wished to continue his journey in Portland, where he still thinks he can win a title. However, this does not prevent him from being sent elsewhere in the media.

An observation that the six-time All-Star regrets… while giving material to those who are impatiently awaiting his departure from Oregon!

If my leaders came to me and said they want to trade me, I wouldn’t say no. I’m not going to fight them because they want to trade me. I don’t want to be anywhere I’m not wanted. But I don’t think that’s the case in Portland.

Lillard is therefore not asking for a change of scenery via this statement, but says he is ready to do so if he no longer considers himself at home with the Blazers. Rest assured, his superiors have so far shown no signs that could make such a scenario credible. On the contrary, the latter always seem to want to build the workforce around him, and offer him the champion ring he so desires.

Although he still wants to continue his journey in Portland, Damian Lillard says he would not veto a trade set up by the Blazers front office. A confession that may not go unnoticed elsewhere in the league!
