ID-NRW judoka at inclusive judo training in the Netherlands | BRSNW – Disabled

After a long period of the pandemic, the NRW ID judoka received an invitation to an inclusive judo training session in Venray, Holland

NRW state trainer Frank Schuhknecht was only too happy to accept the invitation and managed to motivate at least 12 ID judoka to train together. Among them the “professional judoka” of the Gold Kraemer Foundation with their trainer Henning Schäfer.

After a very motivating warm-up phase, the mat was shared. The ID judoka of competition level 1 trained with the able-bodied Dutch judoka under the direction of Rudi Verhagen, primarily fighting techniques with diverse and varied forms of competition.

On the other half of the judo mat, Jan Rust, also a very experienced judo trainer, took over the management of the training with the motorically weaker athletes. The program consisted primarily of different and methodologically very well structured duel exercises on the floor and while standing. Of course, the fighting aspect was also given greater consideration at the end of the training for the judoka in competition class 2.

After the two-hour training, all participants were able to relax at the buffet, so that the course ended with a great culinary success.

The Dutch want to carry out this inclusive kata training four times a year in the future, and the NRW judoka are already looking forward to the next invitation.
