Hawks first league leaders in the south / Splits in Haar and Heidenheim

In the south, the 1st Baseball Bundesliga started the 2022 season a week late. Despite the miserable weather forecast, three pairings were completed on Saturday thanks to one or the other postponement. The double header between the Tornados and Stuttgart Reds, which was canceled for Saturday due to snow on the Roberto-Clemente-Field in Mannheim, will now take place tomorrow Sunday at 1 p.m. (in the live stream on Tornados TV) discharged.

The Tübingen Hawks are the first leaders of the still young season. They prevailed twice in the IT sure Falcons and celebrated a tailor-made start. In the duels between the play-off participants from the previous year, there were splits. The Heidenheim Heideköpfe and Mainz Athletics shared the victories at 7:2 and 5:9. Game one, which was moved from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon, Mitch Franke celebrated a dream Bundesliga comeback with two home runs. In game two, the A’s turned the game in their favor with a spotless bullpen and five runs in the last two innings.

There was also a win for the teams in Munich-Haar, where the host Disciples wrested a 5:4 win from the Guggenberger Legionnaires in game one. RBI singles from Josef Rosenthal and Ryan Saunders helped Haar hit the eighth inning. In the second game, Pascal Amon and Devon Ramirez Beaver collected seven RBI together in a clear 11-4 win for Regensburg.
