This is a one-day competition that will take place in a circular format based on Cross Country rules. The difference is that Hard Enduro Cross will be of increased difficulty. The track will have steep ups, downs, rocks, logs and other obstacles, including elements from the classic Enduro, Hard Enduro and Super Enduro disciplines.
Hard Enduro is a popular and popular motorsport discipline in the world for fans of extreme sports. These athletes must be able to traverse complex and relatively difficult elements that may seem impossible at first glance, such as “walls” – steep climbs, forests, hillsides, steep cliffs, rocky cliffs, as well as on other extreme roads and off-road. The competition takes place over several days. This complex and physically difficult discipline has been loved by more and more Latvian enduro riders, who have been going to challenge themselves for several years and are achieving good success in such competitions as “Red Bull Romaniacs”, “Extreme Charge”, “Sea To Sky” and others.
Kaspars Ērkulis, the head of the Enduro Commission of the Latvian Motorsport Federation, the organizer of MadMadona Hard Enduro Cross, said that the idea for the Hard Enduro Cross in Madona came last autumn. “We decided to create this kind of competition, because there are groups of people who like it and this discipline remains popular not only in the world, but also in Latvia. We will hold this race in Madona, because its relief and the already created Super Enduro track allow us to realize this extreme idea. This will be a good starting point for understanding whether to move forward with the development of Hard Enduro in Latvia. It will also show whether we only need one Hard Enduro stage of the season – “Rocket Biker”, which is traditionally organized in Dzirciems, or whether we will think of something further. In my opinion, this will also reflect the need for this type of competition in the future, seeing whether there will be demand or not. If there are enough participants and responsiveness this year, then we will do it and introduce it as a tradition. It will depend on this year whether people need such a competition in Latvia, ”says Kaspars Ērkulis.
The track can be run at all levels of athlete training. It has been used by both experienced enduro athletes and beginners. Driving time will vary between classes. “We have made the track difficult enough, but it is interesting and everyone will have the opportunity to test their Hard Enduro abilities. Gold or Gold class athletes will have shorter lines, which will be more complicated, Silver or Silver class and Bronze class will have longer and lighter lines, respectively. Classes will vary with driving time of 4, 3 or 2 hours. There will be fights in all three classes. The key is not to be afraid, accept this challenge and participate. Everyone will be able to go everywhere, the only difference will be the speed with which to do it. There will be obstacles on the track, such as logs, rocks, climbs and descents, bigger and smaller, there will be a quarry that no one has driven before, ”the organizer reveals. The competition will be exciting for all athletes, both those who already know the “string” of the Madona track, and those who will start for the first time. There will be more natural relay and natural obstacles. Artificial obstacles that are almost insurmountable will not be included in the circle. It will be about 7 km long. The average driving time for one lap is 30-40 minutes.
Viewers are invited to this event, they will also have the opportunity to get a good dose of adrenaline, because, as you know, Hard Enduro is interesting for fans. “There will be special places where you can get closer to the track and see the most interesting and exciting moments of Hard Enduro cross-country. A good event is guaranteed for everyone. There will be music as well as delicious food. Promising a beautiful time and we will all be able to enjoy this event together.
