Handbolist Arājs announces the end of his career in the state unit

Handball player Oskars Arājs has completed his career in the national state unit, the Latvian Handball Federation (LHF) reports on social networks.

Dobele “Tenax” player Arājs has sent an official announcement of his decision to the LHF.

LHF Secretary General Līga Bīriņa admits that this is sad news in the context of the Latvian national handball team, but Arāja’s decision is respected.

31-year-old left-wing player Oskars Arājs has played 52 games in the national team, in which the player has scored 66 goals. Arājs was also among the participants of the Latvian national team in the first big tournament of the national team – the European Championship in 2020.
