Grizzlies erase 26-point deficit and beat Timberwolves in Game 3 of first-round playoff series

DEsmond Bane made seven triples and added 26 points and the Memphis Grizzlies erased a 26-point deficit to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 104-95 Thursday for a 2-1 lead in their first-round series in the NBA Western Conference playoffs.

Brandon Clarke shot 16 of his 20 points in the second half with Memphis and Ja Morant had a discreet triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Tyus Jones hit two killer 3-pointers against his former team near the end as the Grizzlies regained home-court advantage. They shocked the Timberwolves who won Game 1 on the road 130-117, but suffered a terrible 124-96 loss in Game 2.

The Game 4 is Saturday in Minneapolis.

D’Angelo Russell signed 22 points and eight assists as the key catalyst for the offensive rebound of the Wolves quarter to increase their lead to 23 points, but went 0-for-3 in the fourth quarter. Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota’s only other max-contract player, had another bad game with eight points.
