On the 21st, Goheung-gun held a completion ceremony for the completion of the construction of Donggang Hanmaeum Gymnasium in the area of 590-1 Yudun-ri, Donggang-myeon, for the physical activity of residents of the northern region.
The completion ceremony was held in the presence of more than 150 people, including county governor Song Gwi-geun, county lawmakers and the president of the county sports hall, and heads of organizations and social groups in Donggang, Namyang, and Daeseo.
‘Donggang Hanmaeum Gymnasium’, which was selected in the contest for ‘neighborhood living-type small multi-purpose gym’ organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, was built for the purpose of using sports facilities for residents of the northern region of Donggang-myeon, Daeseo-myeon, and Namyang-myeon.
Donggang Hanmaeum Gymnasium invested 2.3 billion won in total project cost to complete detailed design service in November 2020, and was built with a total floor area of 854㎡ and one floor above the ground with construction started in February last year. A stage was installed along with the space to secure a space for cultural events for local residents.
Governor Song Gwi-geun said, “I hope that the construction of the Donggang Hanmaeum Gymnasium will improve the quality of life of northern residents and greatly contribute to expanding the base of daily life sports.”
With the completion of the Donggang Hanmaeum Gymnasium, it is expected to serve as a center for sports and cultural activities in the northern region along with the adjacent complex cultural center.
