Ginobili and the entrance to the Hall of Fame | This Saturday the award for the former Argentine basketball player is made official

The Argentine Emanuel Ginóbili is already an NBA legend, but if any detail was missing to corroborate it, this Saturday it will be officially established: the Bahian will be one of the two players who will enter the Basketball Hall of Fame, based in the American city of Springfield, Massachusetts, an award reserved only for the chosen ones.

According to what was reported by the American press, Ginóbili and Tim Hardaway are the two former players selected for the tribute, which will be officially announced this Saturday during the dispute of the college basketball finals (NCAA) and whose ceremony will take place in September. . The Olympic champion was on a roster along with ten other finalists, including former NBA players Michael Cooper, Tim Hardaway and Marques Johnson; trainers Marianne Stanley and Leta Andrews; DTs George Karl and Bob Huggins; former WNBA players Swyn Cash and Lindsay Whalen; and Judge Hugh Evans.

To get access to the Hall of Fame, the Bahiense managed to collect at least 18 votes out of a possible 24 in the election by the Honors Committee. From the legendary team that he joined in the San Antonio Spurs, his teammate Tim Duncan has already entered the Hall of Fame. In addition, he will be the first Latin American to achieve the distinction.

Ginóbili, who retired in 2018, won a total of four NBA rings with the San Antonio Spurs and twice starred in the All-Star Game, in addition to having won two Olympic medals (gold in Athens 2004 and bronze in Beijing 2008) and a runner-up in the world with the Argentine National Team.
