Giants Sakamoto & Kazuma Okamoto support single-parent families “Mother’s Day” limited goods auction held | Full-Count

Supporting single mothers is an issue even for youth baseball, and some children give up for financial reasons

I can play baseball because of my mother’s support. Baseball equipment maker SSK will hold a “Mother’s Day Charity Auction” to give shape to everyday gratitude. Mother’s Day limited baseball equipment signed by giants Hayato Sakamoto infielder and Kazuma Okamoto infielder will be on display. The proceeds will be used to support single mothers, and will also support children in youth baseball who cannot continue playing for financial reasons.

Athletes who are active in the professional world would not have been as they are without the power of their mothers. On Mother’s Day, May 8th, all players express their gratitude by playing with pink baseball equipment.

In the past, specially designed bats and spikes were used on Mother’s Day and were given to the players’ families and acquaintances after the match. However, the players asked if they could use it more effectively, and SSK decided to hold a charity auction with the support of the players who signed an advisor contract.

In addition to Sakamoto and Kazu Okamoto, 21 players such as Hanshin / Yuki Nishi, catcher Ryutaro Umeno, Seibu / Takeya Nakamura infielder, and Softbank / Akira Nakamura outfielder will actually provide the baseball equipment used. Sign it and it will be put up for sale on the special site of the Internet auction service “Mobaoku”. It will be held from noon on May 20th to 10pm on 29th. The proceeds of the auction will be used to support single-parent families such as single mothers.

Support for single mothers is also being called for in the youth baseball world. To play as a team, you have to prepare a lot of equipment such as grabs, bats, uniforms and spikes, which is a big financial burden compared to other competitions. Some children give up baseball for financial reasons.

The circle of support is gradually expanding, such as giving baseball equipment free of charge so that children can enjoy baseball regardless of the family environment. It is expected that the number of children who can continue to play baseball at the Mother’s Day charity auction will increase, and at the same time, the worries of single mothers raising baseball boys and girls will be shared with society.
