Frankfurt’s basketball players can hardly be saved – FFH.de

The Fraport Skyliners from Frankfurt are about to be relegated from the basketball Bundesliga.

The bottom of the table lost the game at the Hamburg Towers on Wednesday with 58:68 (21:30) and with a record of 6:24 victories only has a theoretical chance of staying up in the league. Only if Frankfurt wins the remaining four games, the Löwen Braunschweig lose all games and at the same time the Jobstairs Giessen 46ers also end up with ten wins in the end, would the 2004 champions stay in the league thanks to the direct comparison.

Only theoretical chances of staying up

Coach Luca Dalmonte’s team found themselves behind in northern Germany from the start. After the change of sides, the Skyliners were able to shorten the lead, but Frankfurt did not have a chance of winning. Maik Kotsar (17 points) and Jaylon Brown (15) scored best for the playoff contender. 20 points from Skyliners pro Will Cherry were not enough.

Also pouring 46ers before relegation

For the Gießen 46ers, too, the air is getting very thin in the relegation battle: Central Hesse lost 72:78 to the leader of the table, Telekom Baskets Bonn. The 46ers are currently penultimate.
