Playing in the Formula 1 car quartet would not be particularly exciting. Just four manufacturers supply the 1000 hp engines for ten teams – Mercedes, Ferrari, Honda and Renault. But the chance that one will soon be added is greater than ever. Even the racing drivers were interested in a report from Wolfsburg on the Thursday evening before the Australian Grand Prix. There, the Supervisory Board of the Volkswagen Group approved a possible commitment by Audi and Porsche. The seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, enthusiast of the industry, welcomes the two brands: “It’s great that we are moving forward.”
