The annual general meeting of FC Schwaig took place with a slight delay. Due to several absences, the deputies had to step in.

Schwaig – Everything stays different, this was the motto of the annual general meeting of FC Schwaig. Due to Corona, it only took place now and not on Epiphany, as has been the case for almost 100 years. It was also unusual that chairman Robert Jell did not lead the meeting due to illness. He was represented by Deputy Günther Denzinger.

Secretary Thomas Wölken reported to the around 60 members that due to corona, only five of the monthly board meetings could be held in person, the rest were held digitally. There was a significant change in the top management last year: In order to be able to continue to cope with the numerous tasks, Manuel Schaub was elected as a 3rd chairman at FC Schwaig for the first time.

Then it was the cash register’s turn. Here, too, the deputy of the treasurer Arno Schneider, who was on vacation, was allowed to step in front of the desk for the first time. Manuel Ascher confidently announced all of the club’s figures, which had generated an annual surplus of around 27,000 euros. The cash balance as of December 31, 2021 was around 81,500 euros. Auditor Günther Müller then confirmed the correctness of the cash management.

The department report for the Gym + Fit division was given for the first time by the newly elected second department manager, Nils Wölken. He is a regular player in the national league football team and a qualified fitness trainer, and is now supporting department head Daniela Hobmeier.

Youth leader Alfredo Sansone reported on the recently concluded cooperation in the women’s and girls’ division with FC Ingolstadt. FC Schwaig can benefit from the know-how of the FCI, especially when it comes to training its youth coaches. Sansone also praised the football kindergarten established in 2021 for the very youngest footballers at FC Schwaig and was enthusiastic about the large number of small-sided players.

Rainer Singvogel stepped in front of the microphone for the baseball department. He reported that the Red Lions are currently capable of filling two men’s teams, a youth team and a student team, as well as a student coach pitch and BBQ team. The second team is made up almost entirely of young players from their own youth. A highlight from Singvogel’s point of view were the joint training sessions with Max Kepler, the only German player in American Major League Baseball.

The Stockschützen go into the future with boss Geli Huber and her proven team. That was the result of last November’s election. Huber reported that the income and donations were invested in sticks for children.

Football manager Wolfgang Lang thanked his predecessor Toni Scheckenhofer on behalf of the club for his outstanding work over the past 25 years. Finally, Denzinger reported that three defibrillators are now stationed at the Schwaiger sports grounds, which can save lives in an emergency. (Rainer Hellinger)
