Short-lived concern, Wednesday, April 20 at the end of the afternoon, at the Capitol in Washington. The headquarters of the United States Congress was ordered to evacuate due to an air threat around 6.30 p.m. (00.30 a.m. French time).
Law enforcement is monitoring “an aerial device that poses a potential threat to the Capitol Complex”, said a press release from the American police. The alert was quickly lifted.
“The Capitol was evacuated out of an excess of caution”tweeted the police a few minutes later.

A paratroopers demo
According to the news agency Associated Pressthe plane was taking Army paratroopers to the Nationals Park baseball stadium who were preparing to demonstrate before a game.
The number of people present in the precinct was likely limited, as the Senate and House of Representatives were not in session.
The building, a symbol of American democracy, has remained extremely guarded since the forcible entry on January 6, 2021, of supporters of Donald Trump who came to denounce the result of the presidential election which brought Democrat Joe Biden to power.
