European Championship badminton: Lianne Tan reaches the eighth finals | Badminton

Lianne Tan (BWF 36) has qualified for the third round of the European Badminton Championship in Madrid. Julien Carraggi (BWF 129) went down in his first race.

The 31-year-old Tan is the eighth seed and was immediately in the second round. She put the Swiss Jenjira Stadelmann (BWF 89) aside with 21-14 and 21-17. The match lasted 35 minutes.

Three-time Olympian Tan will face Bulgarian Mariya Mitsova (BWF 88) in the eighth finals.
