The provincial badminton titles were decided in Piedrabuena in a final attended by those classified in the different zones. 128 players gathered in the under 11, 13, 15 and 17 male and female categories and 20 courts were set up in two pavilions. On the podium, prominence for the local and Moral players, both from the City Council team and from CEIP Manuel Clemente. Likewise, it is necessary to highlight the participation of players from small towns and where this sport is opening a gap, such as Ruidera, El Robledo, Chillón, Alamillo and Llanos. Other participating towns were El Torno, Porzuna, San Juan Bosco de Puertollano, Membrilla (CEIP San José Calasanz), Torre de Juan Abad and Aldea del Rey.
The four best classified in each category will now access the Regional School Age Championship, which will be held in the town of Burguillos in Toledo on May 21 and 22. The top three finishers got on the podium, but from fourth to sixth they also got a medal.
Present at the awards ceremony were David Triguero, Provincial Deputy for Sports; Alejandro Martínez, head of the Provincial Sports Service; and Ángel Aceña, Councilor for Sports in Piedrabuena.
