Elvis Andrus took the first out of Spring Training

In the marathon game this Saturday in which the Oakland Athletics tied 11-11 against the Colorado Rockies, Venezuelan Elvis Andrus hit his first home run of the spring.

The Creole’s hit came in the fifth inning, before reliever Ty Blach’s shipments, and pushed the third line of the Athletics, who cut back then fell 7-3.

The hit was Andrus’ only connection in two visits to the plate and with his average he improved to .240.

For Oakland, which tied it by driving in six runs in the ninth inning, Tony Kemp, Seth Brown and Kevin Smith also homered.

And for Colorado, Dom Nuñez, who stood out with a Grand Slam, and Connor Joe did the same.
