Eisbären Berlin and Munich win

After the victories in game one, the Eisbären Berlin win again against the Adler Mannheim. Munich also beat Wolfsburg for the second time. The losing teams can be eliminated on Sunday.

DThe Grizzlys Wolfsburg are in the playoff semi-finals of the German Ice Hockey League before the end. Coach Mike Stewart’s team also lost the second of five possible games against EHC Red Bull Munich 2:3 (2:1, 0:2, 0:0) on Friday evening and now needs a small miracle to reach the final. A defeat in the third game on Sunday (2 p.m. live on MagentaSport) in Munich would mean the end of the season for Lower Saxony.

After the clear 1:5 defeat at the start, the Grizzlies started furiously in front of 3261 spectators. Goals from Anthony Rech (7th minute) and Phil Hungerecker 75 seconds later gave the hosts a 2-0 lead. Austin Ortega was able to cut back for the championship contender with just under five minutes left in the first third. After Benjamin Smith equalized 2-2 (25′), Maximilian Kastner finally turned the game around after 36 minutes.

The Eisbären Berlin also won for the second time. In the end it was 6: 3 (0: 1, 1: 1, 5: 1) from the perspective of the Berliners. Jordan Swarz (14th minute), Florian Elias (37th) and Tim Wohlgemuth (58th) scored for the Adler in front of 12,670 spectators in Mannheim. Blaine Byron (48th/57th), Zach Boychuk (55th/59th), Manuel Wiederer (37th) and Leonhard Pföderl (55th) also ensured the success of the capital city club thanks to an outstanding final third. Both clubs will meet again on Sunday (5 p.m. live on MagentaSport and on ServusTV). If the polar bears win, they are in the final for the German championship.
