The dusty and unfair definition of “weaker sex” has been placed in the attic for years, women have shown in many areas an uncommon stubbornnesswhich allowed them to reach important goals and overturn multiple stereotypes.

“Fight like a girl” is no exception that, thanks to a targeted initiative of FIJLKAM (Italian Federation of Judo Fight Karate Martial Arts), it is no longer to be understood as a gross sexist insult but instead as a statement to be proudly claimed.

THE PROJECT INVOLVES 250 COMPANIES THROUGHOUT ITALY

Through the “Fight Like a Girl” initiative (precisely Fight like a girl), the Federation has selected 250 Italian sports clubs, involved in a project to promote and raise awareness of sports practices of your area of ​​interest aimed at athletes from 5 to 20 years old that, at the aforementioned companies, can do two months of training completely free of charge, since the expenses are covered by the federation.

In a project included in the initiatives aimed at encouraging access to sport after the dark months of the pandemic, the Federation has decided to focus its attention on the world of women’s sport, since the share of girls and boys who practice these specific sports, while growing, is about 25% lower than that of male practitioners.

JUDO OLIMPIC ASTI THE ONLY ASTIGIANA COMPANY INVOLVED

At the end of a strict selection – carried out by a Commission and subsequently ratified by the Federal Council, with the aim of enhancing those who, through the presence of athletes, technicians and managers, have shown themselves to be more attentive to the issue – the only Asti company involved in the initiative turned out to be Judo Olimpic Astiborn in 2006 following the disintegration of the Judo Section of the Polisportiva Cassa di Risparmio di Asti.
