Corey Conners stays the course at the Masters

While all eyes inevitably turn to the legendary Tiger Woods, Canadian golfer Corey Conners stands in the leading group at the Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia.

Friday, despite bogeys on the 16th and 17th holes, he returned a 73 card and totaled 143 strokes. The 30-year-old Ontarian thus finds himself at -1.

In Woods’ case, he went into his second round with a bogey on the first hole just short of par. Thursday, he had played 71 (-1) for his return to competition since his serious road accident which occurred in February 2021.

In the middle of the afternoon, South Korean Sungjae Im and Briton Danny Willet, still on the field, temporarily shared the lead at -4.
