Eagles regret not drafting Russell Wilson in 2012
Now installed in command of the Denver attack, Russel Wilson (QB, Broncos) could have worn a less fluorescent green than the Seahawks. Andy Reid (HC, Eagles) had an eye on the young quarterback during the 2012 draft, and hoped to get his hands on him during the third round. Missed. Having fallen back on Nick Foles (QB), Philadelphia still retains a certain bitterness at having missed such a good shot.
« [Wilson] is a player we missed, and I will always regret it,” Jeffrey Lurie (owner) explained to DelawareOnline.com. “He’s someone I really wanted to select in the second round. But we didn’t think anyone would pick it up right before us, and that’s it. »
“It’s very very hard to determine what you call or could call a franchise quarterback. It happens. It happens. After a year or two, is Josh Allen a franchise quarterback? Did we even think about it when Buffalo drafted him? I think the answers are no, no and no. He has become one. We still have that vision, myself included, of an automatic quarterback franchise. It almost doesn’t exist, and when it does you’re very, very lucky to have it. »
injuries
– Daniel Jones (QB, Giants) think he’ll be back for the start of the regular season. Injured in the neck, the Big Blue quarterback missed the last six games of the season. (ESPN)
Transactions
– Rather than deciding to cut Sterling Shepard (WR) the Giants offered the receiver to stay in New York in return for a salary renegotiation. Recovering from a ruptured Achilles heel, Shepard agreed to extend his engagement under those terms.
– Selected in 6th place in 2019, Daniel Jones (QB, Giants) is approaching the end of his rookie contract, and New York will have to position itself soon to exercise his fifth-year option. But not right now. “There is a time and place for these conversations,” Jones told NJ.com.
– D’après John Lynch (GM, 49ers), Alex Mack (C) trains like he’s coming back. At 36, the lineman could consider retirement, but he signed a 3-year contract last year with San Francisco and his manager hopes to recover him for the coming season.

Distribution of funds: the NFL and the Commanders have nothing to say
The anonymous allegations against the Commanders concerning the distribution of gains between teams in the league adds to the long line of files from Washington, but does not arouse for the moment any official reaction. The league declined to comment following its investigation announcement. And the Commanders don’t see what it’s all about.
“The team is not aware of any investigation by the Oversight Committee regarding financial matters, despite some unsubstantiated allegations by an anonymous source,” a Washington spokesperson told ProFootballTalk.com before the case explodes. “The team categorically denies any suggestion of inappropriate financial behavior at any time. We adhere to internal procedures that are in line with industry and accounting standards. We are audited each year by an independent and respected firm, but also regularly by the NFL. We continue to cooperate with the Committee. »
Yet Dan Snyder (owner) risks eviction from the NFL if the facts were to be proven.
DK Metcalf unaware of possible trade
Offseason rumors. Announced as a possible currency of exchange during the free market, D.K. Metcalf (WR, Seahawks) could well be coveted by several franchises according to NFL Media. In the meantime, the principal concerned is not aware of anything.
