Bomber Matthew with “hat-trick” forges Maple Leafs victory over champions

Auston Matthew rose to three goals in a National Hockey League (NHL) match on Monday, helping his Toronto Maple Leafs win their fifth win in a row.

The Toronto team defeated Tampa Lightning 6: 2.

Matthew, who is the league’s top scorer, also added a hat-trick. He is one goal away to become the player in the Maple Leafs who has scored the most goals in a single season. Matthew, having scored 54 goals this season, has already repeated the record achieved by Rika Weiv in the 1981/82 season.

Nikita Kucherov and Jan Ruta scored for Lightning.

The Calgary Flames defeated the Kings of Los Angeles 3: 2, winning three losses.

The victory of the Flames was secured by Johnny Gudro, who scored two goals, while Adrian Kempe stood out in the Kings with two accurate shots.
