Bergwijn now also displays Oranjevorm in the Premier League: he scores as a substitute

These are goal-rich times for Steven Bergwijn. The man of three goals in the last two international matches for Orange scored on Sunday as a substitute for Tottenham Hotspur against Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Cold on the field, he was served by Lucas Moura and shot the ball through goalkeeper Martin Dubravká into the corner. Despite Bergwijn’s good form, trainer Antonio Conte had stuck with his regular attack trio Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.

Fabian Schär gave Newcastle the lead in the 39th minute from a free kick, but Ben Davies quickly tied the score again.

Fifth assist for Kulusevski

In the first 20 minutes after the break, Spurs went out to 4-1 via goals from Matt Doherty, Son Heung-min and Emerson Royal. Kulusevski, Bergwijn’s competitor, who was hired from Juventus, gave the assist to Son’s 3-1, making his fifth assist in his first ten games.
