Benzema refuses to imitate Ronaldo’s attitude

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Striker Real Madrid Karim Benzema reluctant to follow the principles of the Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to be the best player in the world.

Benzema has been in the spotlight in recent days. After scoring a hat-trick that brought Madrid to a 3-1 win over Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, Benzema is said to be worthy of winning the Ballon d’Or.

The Ballon d’Or is one of the annual individual awards for the best player in the world. However, the French player insists he does not have the ambition to be the best.

“I don’t play football to be the best in the world, I play for nights like this,” Benzema said.

Quoted from the Mirror, Benzema’s attitude is different from Cristiano Ronaldo. CR7 is famous for always showing the ambition to be the best.

“It’s a ball [Ballon d’Or] the most in the history of football. I would love it and I think I deserve it,” Ronaldo said when asked Piers Morgan about the record he wanted to set before retiring.

“I know I’m one of the greatest in the history of football,” the 37-year-old added.

That goal was shown by Ronaldo when he moved from Juventus to Manchester United earlier this season. Not playing with Juventus’ less impressive performance, Ronaldo hopes to shine again in the Red Devils.

It’s just that Ronaldo’s hopes of winning the trophy and succeeding with Man United failed to happen. This season, United are without a trophy. MU also have to fight hard to get a ticket to the Champions League next season.
