Bennedict Mathurin makes himself eligible for the NBA Draft

Promising Quebec basketball player Bennedict Mathurin announced on Wednesday that he was leaving the ranks of the University of Arizona to make himself available for the next NBA draft.

The 19-year-old Montrealer confirmed everything in a post on Twitter.

“I would like to thank my family and friends for all of their support during my career at Arizona. The city of Tucson and the best fans in the world have welcomed me with open arms.

“I am a Wildcat and will be for the rest of my life.”

Recall that Mathurin and the Wildcats saw their journey to March Madness come to an end prematurely, they who lost their game of round of 16 against the Cougars of the University of Houston.

“Playing in the NBA has always been a dream for me and I’m ready to take the next step in that direction,” he continued.

Mathurin had 17.7 points per game in 2021-22, his second and last in the NCAA. According to several observers, he could be selected in the top 10 of the NBA draft.
