The baseball player Trevor Bauerpitcher of Los Angeles Dodgerswas suspended for two full seasons from Major League Baseball (MLB), after he broke with the codes of the league’s domestic violence policy.

This Friday, April 29, the directors of the major leagues reported that the 31-year-old pitcher has been sanctioned with a 324-game suspension, around two years of competition, same in which he will not have salary either, due to a breach of the policy of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse established by MLB since 2015.

The reason for these accusations would focus on the scandal experienced by the athlete, after a woman reported to the authorities that she had been a victim of domestic violence perpetrated by the playerpresenting through medical tests and photographs evidence of the attacks, among which they presumed blows, scratches and an attempted suffocation, also requesting a restraining order.

And although, after months of investigation, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office stated that there was not enough evidence to proceed with the charges against the Dodgers player, the MLB decided to continue the investigations on the case on its own, and it is until this day in late April that He announced his verdict accompanied by his sentence.

For his part, Trevor Bauer, who has repeatedly stated his innocencehas said he will appeal against the league’s stance, threatening to even sue MLB itself for defamation.

“In the strongest possible terms, I deny having committed any violation of the league’s domestic violence and sexual assault policy. I am appealing this action and hope to prevail. As we have done throughout this process, my representatives and I respect the confidentiality of procedures”, indicated the player through his social media.
