#Basketball | The Women’s Cadet team is still champion of Spain

VALENCIA. Gold medal in Female Cadet, bronze in Male Child and Male Cadet, 5th place in Female Child and 7th position in Male Alevín and Female Alevín. This is the balance of the participation of the Valencian Community in the Spanish Championship of Autonomous Selections.

The Women’s Cadet team of the Valencian Community has revalidated its title of champion of Spain after beating Catalonia in the final by 61-69. The day of the premiere of the Championship already showed that he was coming for all. They beat one of the great favorites, Andalucía, by 60-74. And from that moment on, they comfortably defeated the rest of their rivals in the Group Phase: La Rioja (84-52), Madrid (58-95) and Canarias (64-41). In the semi-finals they also comfortably beat Asturias (43-78), and in the final they won an exciting match thanks to a great second half.

The Men’s Children’s and Men’s Cadet teams are bronze medalists. La Infantil has achieved it after beating Galicia in the match for 3rd and 4th place (63-78). Iván García’s players came out very strong from the start and did not waver at any time despite the rival’s push. A well-deserved award after having starred in a good Group Phase, defeating Castilla León (83-33), Murcia (60-84) and Canarias (70-75) and only being surpassed by Andalucía with a tight (53-60) . In the semi-final matchup, the Valencian Community had no options against Madrid (47-78), ultimately champions of Spain, but they were able to finish the Championship with this victory against Galicia, which gave them the bronze medal.

The bronze for the Men’s Cadet has come against Catalonia (87-79). The evolution of this team during the Championship has been very similar to the Children’s team, with three wins and 1 loss in the Group Stage. The victories came against Castilla León (45-109), Murcia (81-71) and the Canary Islands (89-69), while the defeat was precisely against Catalonia (82-50), so now Óscar Retortillo’s players They remake that result after having lost the semifinal match against Madrid (83-67).

The Women’s Children’s team, for its part, finished in fifth place after beating Galicia 69-64. The girls had an unbeatable start to the Championship, beating Asturias (39-85) and Castilla León (85-55). However, the next two matches in the Group Phase ended in defeat (61-56 against Andalusia and 48-59 against the Canary Islands) and that separated the team led by Carles Yuste from the semifinals, who did achieve victory in the last I meet to be fifth in Spain in Women’s Children.

In the Spanish Minibasket Championship, the Valencian Community is seventh after achieving victory in its last match, fighting for positions 7th to 10th. Thus, the girls trained by Belén Gómez reaped two victories and two defeats. Meanwhile, the Men’s Alevín fought in all their matches but without reward against great rivals such as Galicia (71-94), Andalucía (77-86) or Madrid (74-46). He did manage to beat the Balearic Islands (57-82), a decisive victory in that it allowed him to opt for that seventh place, ultimately beating Asturias (79-29).
