Basketball. New Ukrainian player for Todis Salerno: Uliana Datsko arrives | Battipaglia 1929

Todis Salerno ’92 embraces a new player from Ukraine. In fact, the club owned by Angela Somma ensures the performances of Uliana Datsko, a winger born in 1999 who represents a very important piece for the roster of coach Aldo Russo. The athlete is in the national team of her country and she comes from the Latvian formation of the Daugavpils Universitate, with which she has played the games in the last month.

Previously he had defended the colors of Prometey at home, the prestigious team with which he played in the Eurocup in the last two seasons, graduating last year as Ukrainian champion and winner of the national cup. In her luggage she too has three seasons in Poland with UMCS Lublin and UW Warsaw.

“My goal is to continue playing basketball, no matter if at home abroad. I certainly hope that the atmosphere will soon be quiet again. My parents stayed at home, where fortunately the situation is calm, but they are happy that I can live this new experience abroad. We can hear from each other every day with regularity – says Datsko – After finishing the matches in Latvia, I asked my agent to look around: if there hadn’t been the war, I would have returned home to rest and then resume training, but I wanted to embark on a new adventure. For me Italy means… good food (laughs) but also good basketball: I thought very little about accepting, in two or three days I arrived here ”.

There is satisfaction after the completion of the operation by the top manager of Todis Salerno ’92, Angela Somma: “This opportunity has been created and we have seized it, thanks also to the intermediation of InterPerformances. We managed to bring a good player to Salerno to strengthen the team and not throw away the good things we have done so far. Also considering the many injuries we have had during the season, we needed to reinforce the staff to continue to aim decisively at important goals ”.
