Basketball: Bamberg wants to continue series – regional

Three games won

Anyone who knows the people of Frankfurt knows that they won’t do that either. Just as little as they did in the first leg. They made life extremely difficult for Brose for over 40 minutes. The guests had their German players to thank for leaving the floor as winners, as Heckmann (15), Ogbe (12), Sengfelder (12) and Lockhart (3) scored more than half of all Bamberg points.

Of course, that can’t be the case in the second leg on Sunday. At least Patrick Heckmann will not be able to appear as a top scorer, as he will be absent from the team for a long time due to a foot injury. Everyone else has more than compensated for his absence in the past few weeks.

Bamberg have been unbeaten for three games and showed a consistently good performance in the last game against Crailsheim. Mitchell (13), Sengfelder (12) and Co. dominated the rebound and in the end secured 51 rebounds – a season record. But the ball was also distributed excellently, which could be seen from the strong 18 assists.

door is still open

With the third success in a row, Brose has kept the door open to possibly reaching the playoffs. However, the Bamberg team have to keep going and can hardly lose any more in the remaining eight games.

It will also be important against Frankfurt that the men of head coach Oren Amiel present themselves as an aggressive unit, above all defensively. That was the case for a long time in the past games. The defensive stability led to nice offensive actions, which also encouraged the crowd, which allowed the Bamberg players to get a few more percent out of themselves. The fans will again play an important role in the game against Frankfurt.

For the first time in a long time, it is no longer compulsory to wear an FFP2 mask in the Brose Arena. However, the people of Bamberg recommend that you continue to wear mouth and nose protection to protect yourself and those sitting next to you.

Omar Prewitt warnt

“We’re currently on a small run, but we don’t take it for granted. We work hard every day and are now able to put that into practice on the floor,” says Bamberg’s small forward Omar Prewitt. “Nevertheless, there is of course still a lot that we can do better. In order to survive against Frankfurt it is important that we don’t let ourselves be fooled by results or where we are in the table. Last but not least, they impressively demonstrated in Braunschweig that the Hessians can do it. Therefore: We have been warned, but of course we want to win the game.” This again requires consistently good work in defence. “If we continue to stabilize there, we can hold our own against any opponent. Offensively we have a lot of talent, everyone can decide a game”, says Prewitt.

Three more home games

After the encounter with Frankfurt, the home game marathon continues unabated, because with Chemnitz (April 8), Göttingen (April 13) and Ulm (April 18), three more games in a row await the Bamberg fans in the Brose Arena . Tickets are available at brosebamberg.de and in the fan shop.
